For this assignment I have to create a published book with a sizable amount of images connected to a theme of my own choice. I will have to choose whether to include text to add context or not which will leave the meaning of my work to the audience to perceive. I can use several book publishing websites like artifactuprising.com, blurb.com, photobox.com etc to decide on the layout, order and overall design of my book.
I will have to research prices and sizes of books appropriate to my theme and in turn research relevant practitioners. I will also have to research and use different types of cameras and formats; which will expand my own knowledge of formats I currently use and create different effects to the images.
A book gives the viewer a different perspective on what the work is all about. often when images are used on TV, Advertisement, flyer's, clothing etc you only see it for short periods of time; allowing your judgement to be very basic and brief. However you have all the time in the word to take in the images in a book, it gives you time to truly appreciate the art. This makes the experience very personal which is very different to something like a billboard that most people passing by will see and have their own personal opinion on it.
