My idea hasn't really changed since the start of this unit however complication have had to be made because I ran out of time for anymore photoshoots. I have had to use images that I might not have if I had one more week. I would have got the models back in to use new methods I found towards the end of the shoots. The only other difference is that I wanted to make a magazine, instead I feel that I have made a photography book with magazine influence. this is because I felt that wording in the book would be pointless and distracting to the viewer.
Through this unit I have used a lot of equipment. This includes several cameras like the NikonD610, Olympus OM10, Fuji film compact camera and a Canon 1000D. Also three different lights; single head Bowens Gemini flash, portrait flash ring and a macro flash ring. Using an epson scanner I have also been able to scan some film to make a digital copy.
I encountered a couple of problems during this unit; the first one was the lack of models that was available or people willing to let me take their picture. Then when I found one a lot of people volunteered and I had a lot to edit down. The other challenge I encountered was from from my peers. many were unhappy with the early work I produced which pushed me to produce stronger work.
My most influential photographer that I researched was Terry Richardson. His photographes are very clean with a playful nature. I also appreciate how David Bailey uses shadow to emphasise the model and how they are positioned if they are wearing dark colours.
I am very pleased with the layout of the book and the concept that the book creates when you look through it. However I am not pleased with the quality of some of the images; I would have used the studio more and used the methods I found towards the end of this unit. then the quality of the image would have been better, the overall strength of the images and the effect of the book. This is because the subject will be more obvious and understandable; I may have also been able to get more models with more variance in style.
